OTIS BREAKING NEWS! October 4, 2023: According to multiple sources who wish to remain anonymous and go only by the screen names Bommy and shehikes, King Otis of Katmai was seen on the campaign trail at Brooks Falls yesterday evening, October 3, just before 7:00 p.m. Katmai time. This surveillance image captured on Brooks Falls Low cam shows our boy is eating well and unaffected by all the hubbub and his candidacy as a Fat Bear Contender, as Fat Bear Week kicks off.

We reviewed additional footage in earnest, hoping to spy a view of our four-time Fat Bear champion. We say, with confidence, that the tiny brown spot the size of a pinhead to the left of the Table Rock in this Riffles image is, in fact, King Otis.

We’re attempting to secure an interview with King Otis and with film at 11. (Or 9ish EDT… because we needs snoozles too.) 😉 Drop your questions for Otis in the comments below. 😀

It’s gonna be a great day, ya’ll! Remember to cast your vote for your favorite of today’s Fat Bear candidates at Expore.org/fat-bear-week! Wishes for Fishes and a Sunshiny Day, until next time! ♥

  1. Question for Otis— is he endorsing Grazer, his night-time fishing friend? She knows how to fish in the dark and he doesn’t have to tell her to get off his lawn for disturbing his peace—or the salmon!

    1. Otis endorsed 32 Chunk because 32 Chunk endorsed Otis. Buds and all that. However, he’s quite please that his best sow friend, Ms. Grazer wears the crown now and represents Katmai with true bear spirit!
