Otis Fishing Report UPDATE for July 29, 2023
When we left you about 10:00 p.m. Katmai time yesterday, Otis was still at naps.

About an hour later, he returns from the Platform side, walks to the Sandbar, and surveys his Kingdom. From Riffles, having noted that it’s 128 Grazer who currently occupies his Office, Otis debates going back to bed (probably).

Pondering that a full15 minutes, he finally meanders to 820 Wallflower’s Wall. Grazer goes for a fish, stepping out of the Office in the process momentarily, and Otis quietly walks in. Missing said fish, Grazer steps back into the Office — and promptly Grazers Otis. Only slightly worse for the wear, Otis returns to take up Wallflower’s position.

A short time later, Brooks cam pans, and — I’m sure only because we said publicly he doesn’t stand on rocks — Otis is standing on Alice’s rock for the second time in two days.

Seeing as there are more bears than fish, Otis meanders across the River, pauses at the Sandbar just to be sure there are no fish ready for inspection, and then heads off the Platform side for more snoozles less than an hour after his arrival.

Two hours later on Brooks Falls cam, Otis arrives for second shift to see what’s cookin’. He pauses at the Sandbar again, and from Riffles cam, we see Otis, for what is now the third time in two days, standing on rocks. 🙂

Otis and old friend 747 say their good evenings and how d’ya do’s on Riffles, and then Otis heads toward the opposite river bank.

He stops at Alice’s where he demonstrates that he’s taken Rock Standing lessons during the off season. 😉

He cautiously walks toward his Office with high hopes that Grazer has gone home for the day, so he may fish in peace. No such luck. He waits patiently at Wallflower’s Wall.

As 747 has stepped away momentarily, Grazer moves to her preferred Conveyor. Otis slides into his Office. 747 returns. Grazer escapes by going up the large Conveyor Rock and stepping onto the Lip. She circles around and drops into Otis’ Office (literally) from the top of the Falls. Another (slight) Grazering occurs. Back to Wallflower’s Wall we go.

A short bit after 10:00 p.m. Katmai time, 747 waddles off the Conveyor for greener pastures, and Grazer assumes that position. Otis moves to the Royal Office.

As the clock is about to strike 11:00 p.m. Katmai time, Otis’ patience is rewarded with a nice big fish!

A quick 15 minutes later, there’s another, and a Wise Old Bear knows to shield his catch from would-be Pirate Paws. Immediately after finishing that fish, there’s another pounce and another fish!

As midnight approaches, that ends our count for July 29: Total Fish Count on cam 4 Fish.

More later, and in the meantime, wishes for fishes! ♥
