Otis Fishing Report Note for November 15, 2023: The biggest surprise for me this year was Otis and his Rock Climbing Meanderventures. I’ve earned the Stalking Level Achievement with Otis these last three years, and our boy is a meanderer — not a climber. Sure, he heads up the Far Path when there’s a nice cushy bed of grass up there waiting to snuggle him up for snoozles, and he’s been known to run to save a fish now and again with a nice trot (not to be confused with saving the fish’s life — saving it for himself lol). But if there are calories involved, Otis is a saver and not a spender. He goes around the rocks and not on top of them/

But within 48 hours of his return on July 28, Otis started climbing rocks. Thinking it was an anomaly, we missed the opportunity to add this stat to the Magic Workbook. But you have the snaps to prove it happened. Repeatedly. July 29 (twice). August 5. August 6. August 13. August 15. August 17. August 18.

A favorite on August 21, the Surfing Rock (with a repeat on August 28).

And then all those vacations in between, and on October 1, we get to see how healthy Otis looks. What a remarkable transformation!

Another Chatter (I’m sorry I didn’t jot down the username) describes Otis as doing a “Benjamin Button” on us, I think they’re right! But I digress…

About those rocks. We did have it in our head that we may be wrong and perhaps just missed the Rock Climbing in prior years. We actually psyched ourselves into thinking it must be so. And then the ever-fabulous capturer of videos, mckate popped in one night and confirmed. Nope. Never before. (Paraphrasing) And we felt validated — if mckate had never seen it, we weren’t losing our mind just yet. đŸ˜€

So that was our biggest Otis Surprise of the year. What was yours?

Another memory in the Otis Scrapbook, and we’re off until tomorrow. Sending Wishes for Fishes and Sweet Snoozly Snoozles! ♥
