Otis Fishing Report UPDATE

Otis Fishing Report UPDATE for August 20, 2023: Fortunately, after the day’s heart-stopping Bear Cam experience with Otis and Walker, the remainder of the day was (relatively) calm. Otis and 151 Walker danced in the Far Pool — not the way *I* like to dance, but Big Boar Bear kinda dancing, ya know? — but there was no more ruckus over fish or space and Otis scored a couple of low-key fish.

Walker was bouncing between the Office and the Boulder just to keep any other bears from those two places. Adaptable Otis hangs at Wallflower’s Wall, and he’s cool with that. He inches toward his Office, when Walker is at the Conveyor. Walker is high-grading in the Office, so Otis is first in line for scraps, and Otis ain’t highfalutin — scraps are easy calories, and that’s fine with an e-fish-ent bear like our boy.

This Swing Your Partner Round and Round goes on for quite some time, and Otis seems okay enough with it, but his most recent nap was a short one. Perhaps just a liiiittle bit more snoozles will do a body good. And that’s what Otis does on Brooks Falls cam (far right in snap).

After just a quick power nap, Otis awakes, gets a drink of water and ponders life, naps, and fish.

He knows we’re eager to see how his Fat Bear Bod is coming along, and he gives us the profile money shot. Lookin’ Good, King! ♥

Just after 6:30 p.m., Otis is seen leaving on the Platform side on Brooks Falls cam. He pauses to sniff out a tiny salmon morsel and then we presume he heads to his favorite napping spot behind the Platform and in line of sight to his adoring Bear Paparazzi on said Platform.

At 11:40 p.m., squinting a LOT on Brooks Falls Low cam, we see the dark shadowy figure that is Otis returning to the Falls from the Platform side. A minute later, he arrives at his office, where 128 Grazer is standing by at the Conveyor. An hour later, Otis leaves his Office, and Riffles cam tracks him leaving up the Far Path, and cams zoom out.

As Otis has multiple known napping spots, including one behind the tree line atop the Far Bank, we’re presuming it’s snoozles time again — an e-fish-ent way to spend one’s time when the fish are arrival Falls still (e-fish-ent when one is a bear, anyway).

We’re ending August 20 with 15 Fish + 1 Epic Fish + 5 Scraps (the Epic Fish being from the day’s Walker shenanigans)!

Until later, sending them wishes for fishes and Zen moods all around today! ♥
