Otis Fishing Report UPDATE

Otis Fishing Report UPDATE for August 18, 2023
At the end of last report, Otis was snoozling in his Bank Bunk. Half an hour later, he was still at it.

About 6:30 p.m. Katmai time, Otis awakes. Apparently, his only purpose is to prove the point that, not only can he stand on rocks, but that he does, in fact, stand on rocks often. 🙂 Because he does this and then immediately goes back to his Bank Bunk.

And then this adorableness is captured by SuspectCelery on Riffles cam!

By 7:00p.m., Otis is trekking to his Office. He hops onto the Conveyor. His pal, old buddy, hello there friend 747 is not overly pleased, and they exchange “friendly words”. 747 steps aside and Walker is in and out of the Office, and we have ourselves a genu-ine Beary Go Round. Otis and 747, at least, make peace and try some In-Tandem Fishing at the Conveyor. Awww! Isn’t that nice. 😀 It lasts about 30 seconds. ahahaha

Otis has had enough carnival ride for the moment and goes back to his Bank Bunk. Annnnd 30 minutes later, Otis is back at Wallflower’s Wall and he scores a large scrap. (Up and down all night doesn’t sound like any chatter I know checking Otis’ fish count in the middle of the night!)

Otis gets back on the Beary Go Round with Walker and 747. And Grazer. And 164 Bucky. Otis plays through toward the Boulder, and if you were really paying attention with your magnifying glass, you saw Otis POUNCE for a fish right here on Riffles cam. He takes it to the Far Pool Table Rock to eat and this group of respectful Go-Round bears lets him eat in peace.

Otis and 747 Sit Fish and kabitz about 151 Walker for a while. Walker appears oblivious, but secretly is quite pleased at his alt moniker “Hot Walker.” He’s happy to be fodder for gossip. (Probably)

747 leaves. Walker Conveyor. Otis Office. Walker leaves. 747 returns. Grazer Office. Otis Boulder. And round and round it goes! Here’s Otis practicing his Zen in all his floopy earedness on Brooks Falls cam.

As Brooks Falls cam switches to infrared, Otis switches to Alice’s for a little bit of Sit and Fish.

Then Grazer moves to, through, and around the Boulder, while Otis retakes his Office. 747 heads off the Platform side. Grazer returns. Otis to Conveyor. Grazer and Otis, mostly, are fishing harmoniously. Otis checks out Alice’s. The corner of the Office. A lil this; a lil that. Grazer does the same. Otis Office. Grazer Conveyor. A lot of typing. Lol And as the clock strikes midnight, this is where we find our beary, furry friends.

Total fish count for August 18 8 Fish + 1 Scrap. Remember two things though: First, Otis left for about 6 hours and appeared to be heading down River — he’s quite adept at fishing there and likely earned more calories than we’ve spied on cam. Second, the 2023 Fish Graduating Class salmon are consistently over-sized compared to prior years — many, I’d say, are 2XL and 3XL, as illustrated by this GIF captured by Blair-55 on Brooks Falls cam

Until later, wishes for fishes for everybear!! ♥
