Otis Fishing Report UPDATE for August 14, 2023
Otis left for naps just about 11:30 a.m. Katmai time, and from midnight until then, had inspected 10 fish.
He returns, looking well rested from a very long siesta, minutes before 10:00 p.m. His buddy 747 brings up the rear minutes later. Together and quite amicably, perhaps hand in hand, they head to the Conveyor. Otis picks up a scrap.
It looks like that’s 151 Walker in the Office. As Team Otis + 747 approach, Walker exits, and Otis takes his rightful place in his Office on Brooks Falls cam.
Walker returns, and Otis hits up the Boulder. 747 waddles off, and Otis heads to the Conveyor. Walker decides he wants the Conveyor too, and Otis circles back to his Office. With remarkable agility, given his girth, Walker heads up the Boulder. 747 returns to the Conveyor. Grazer enters the chat, and Otis ends up back at the Boulder. Grazer departs. Otis returns to his Office. This entire game of Musical Bears occurs in perhaps a 15-minute time span on Brooks Falls cam.
Not too long after all this, Grazer returns to chitter chatter at Otis, and he leaves to check out Alice’s buffet. With not much happening, he heads back toward the Office and settles in behind(ish) the Conveyor. Again, all this happening on Brooks Falls cam.
The image on Brooks Falls cam is completely blurred for a minute, and when we return, Otis is magically standing in his rightful place — his Office. Not too many minutes in, Otis scores his first fish!
And just minutes later, an intruder tries to oust Otis, but he’ll have none of that! Said intruder looked quite a bit like 164 Bucky. Interesting because Bucky fears no bear, and Otis Zens out for almost everybear. But tonight, Otis remains steadfast in that his Office is his Office. And for his efforts, he’s rewarded with another fish!
And with that, we update the August 14 count to 12 Fish + 1 Scrap and begin a new day at Katmai! More later! Have a great day, and sending wishes for fishes all around! ♥

Wow! Watching just before 530 am on Tuesday, August 15, Otis is catching fish after fish after fish, totally hygrading. So good to see!

5:47, another successful pounce. Apologies for mass-posting but Otis is amazing right now. Maybe just me being new to this, but this boy wastes no energy. He is a master fisher bear!
