Otis Fishing Report for August 14, 2023
Just five minutes after midnight, Otis makes his first catch of the day! Three minutes later, he catches another!

Otis is going along swimmingly catch fishes without disruption, when suddenly another bear arrives on scene for a little middle-of-the-night tete-a-tete. Otis is displaced to the Conveyor (which is okay with him, actually). Hey, is that 128 Grazer on Brooks Falls cam?!? Dang, Girlfriend!

A short minute later, Invader Bear leaves, and Otis returns to his Office to catch this minnow as a palette cleanser to his next course. To be fair, Otis paw is probably bigger than my entire face, so “minnow” might be a bit harsh. πŸ˜‰ In any event, he makes up for it with his next catch — which is a whopper!

Again and though the fish are few, Otis is undisturbed for a period of time. At 6:30 a.m., Grazer decides quiet time is over, and she chitter chatters at Otis until he leaves. He heads to Alice’s and toward Riffles a quick minute, then makes a right turn toward the Sandbar. Look at our Fab Bear Contender now!

He continues toward the Platform, and it looks like he’s going to exit behind it. He makes an about face and heads toward the Kiddie Pool, and up the Fish Ladder, then across the Falls and… off cam he goes!

There are a few reasons Otis might go that way (not the first time he’s left via Fish Ladder), but five minutes later, he returns, again seen on Riffles, back down the Fish Ladder, across the River, and then sits at Alice’s.

Around 10:00 a.m., Otis tries the Boulder in front of 747 and the Conveyor. Seeing no fish, he almost immediately returns to his Office. And that’s where he remained until naps.

We had a bit of time where things were too blurry to see and/or Otis was off cams, so whatever our count, Otis is eating more! Total count from midnight to 11:25 a.m. when Otis left for naps is 10 Fish. Seems our boy is on a Whole Fish Kick — no scraps, no high-grades, no sniffs, and thankfully, no pirates. πŸ˜‰

Next update may be tomorrow — depends on what happens tonight (and how much sleep we need)! Until then, wishes for fishes here, there, and every bear! ♥

  1. I’ve thanked you before for doing these write-ups, but didn’t mention how much the writing brings a smile to my face. Done by someone who obviously loves the bears and gets the same joy I do from viewing them. Salud!
