Otis Fishing Report

Otis Fishing Report for August 18, 2023
It’s a new day with new adventures and (hopefully) new fishes! Otis is in his Office sort the bubbles while waiting for fish to inspect. He checks out the Boulder and returns. Hocus, pocus, focus, Otis!

An hour and a half into the new day, Grazer nudges Otis out of his Office. He’s cool. No worries, my friend Grazer. Otis heads to Alice’s and then his Bank Bunk, where he again redecorates and then lays his adorable self down to nap.

Just after 2:30 a.m., Otis heads to his Office for breakfish. Service is a little slow this morning, but to our delight, breakfish IS being served!

Later, Otis heads to the Boulder and back and snags another one as captured by Merry_Mermaid-Mermaids4Otis in this Brooks Falls cam GIF.

Another one follows! And then another! This one is so big, it should count as 3, folks. Seriously. This would feed the entire Brady Bunch (or Beady Bunch, take your pick). Check it out on Brooks Falls cam.

It starts to rain again, but this doesn’t deter Otis from his appointed fish inspections. As the fishing slows, Otis’ patience rises. He waits.

He takes a moment to adore his fans and says “Here’s lookin’ at you, kid!” (probably)

Shortly after that snap, Otis leaves his Office for a little break. He looks like he’s walking around the block, as he is prone to do some days before heading off at the Platform for naps. But then he takes a turn down Riffles. Our best guess is that he may be headed for some Meandering Fishing in the River. Perhaps he knew that his favorite reporter’s time was limited today and wanted to help a girl out by being off cams. πŸ˜‰

About 6 hours later, Otis appears on Riffles cam. And you’re not going to believe what Blair-55 catches our boy doing… or maybe you will. πŸ˜‰ He’s not just standing on rocks — he’s practically sprinting across the darned things like he’s a spring cub fresh out of his den for the first time and just learned how to Skip to My Lou!

He heads toward the Falls, much like he did his first day back July 26, hits the Jacuzzi, end of the Conveyor, and then Alice’s. (As though like he didn’t cheat on us at another fishing hole all afternoon.) He tries Wallflower’s Wall and grumbles at a very large brown butt (I think it’s 747’s tush). Whatever magic happened here, Otis ends up waltzing into his Office and commences fishing.

It looks like it’s 151 Walker who comes around next, and same thing — magic! Otis is left fishing in his Office. A few minutes later, Walker tries again. Otis Magic happens. Otis remains in his Office!

Third time, however, Walker gets the Office. Otis sliiiides to the left. When we see him again, Otis is back in his Office. It appears this continues for quite a while, but it also appears that Otis has a Magic Force Field around him that keeps Walker from getting too close. We’ll take it, especially given that Walker is a known butt-biter, and we like Otis’ butt just the way it is, thank you! πŸ˜‰

By 4:00 p.m., Otis hops off the Walker Go Round (it takes 3 bears to make a Beary Go Round) and heads for his Bank Bunk. He freshens up his linens, and lies down for some afternoon snoozles.

So for all that, the fish Otis caught in the middle of the night are his total count today — 6 Fish. Some chatters mentioned 7; we saw 6. Agree to disagree, we shall. πŸ™‚ BUT we’re feeling pretty confident that his afternoon was spent in the River, so no doubt his actual consumption is higher!

We’ll pick up here tomorrow with an update, and until then, wishes for fishes and sweet salmon dreams! ♥

Bonus Question: Do you think Otis could be 903 Gully’s pop? Just sayin’!
