Otis Fishing Report for September 22, 2023: Howdydo and heads up! We’re truncating our report because we’ve been away from the keyboard and we’re in need of a pizza, ice cream, and Netflix and Chill sort of night, but stay to the near-end because we have well wishes to send. ♥
Now where were we? Oh, yes!
There were a few meandering bears on River Watch during the overnights, and though we couldn’t say for certain any were Otis, one or three had Otis Vibes. That said, there are some NOtis with… Otis Vibes.
About 9:30 a.m. Katmai time, the King of Katmai and his Infamous Jewels catch up with us. He’s lookin’ good here on the River!!
A minute or three later, Otis runs (yes, we said RUNS) so fast that our CamOp is taken by surprise. They scroll past our boy and then catch up as he’s already on the small island bank eating what appears to be a fresh… FISH! Now we know the rules (heck, we made ’em! lol), but we do take body language into account when Otis is in the Office, and we think we should here too. 😉 There’s no need to RUN for a… errr. dead fish, yeah? Otis lies down or Yogas to dine on fresh catch, yeah? And he always takes longer to eat fresh, yeah? So we’re calling it… FISH! 😀
Later, Otis is meandering about, pausing to drink a little drink, rummage around behind the tall grasses, check out the fisher… errr… never mind that thought, and probably off cam to attend a brunch in Ranger Naomi‘s honor prior to her boarding her plane. He is as sad to see her head to the mainland as we are because she is the Ultimate Champion of Bears and Friend to Chatters, keeping us informed when Bear Things go sideways in the Land of Katmai, but he wishes her well and hopes to see her next year! ♥
And as he was off cam, so were we, and we’re totaling the fish count for September 22 at 1 Fish + 2 DOAs + 1 Pizza that needs to come out of the oven now. 😉
Until tomorrow, sending our best Wishes for Fishes to all the rangers with a Great Big Bear Hug and many, many thank yous! ♥
