Otis Fishing Report UPDATE for August 12, 2023
Picking up where we left off, Otis left the Falls at 12:30 p.m. Katmai time August 12 for naps and returned nearly 9 hours later at 9:19 p.m. (thank you, Olatz for the timestamp!).
He swings wide to the right past the Sandbar and then hits up the Conveyor. Then minutes later, the “Occupied” sign on the Office leaves (sorry, we didn’t catch who that was), and Otis takes over. And so it begins with Otis and his potential offspring fishing the Falls on a beautiful Katmai evening. 🙂
About 45 minutes later, a large boar comes down from the back side of the Falls and down the Boulder. Grazer moves back. Boulder Bear goes back up the Boulder and then sits on the Lip (making us think it’s 821 Pepper). Grazer goes back to the Conveyor, and then inexplicably leaves, and Otis checks out the Conveyor. Less than 10 minutes later, Otis is back in his Office in the most magical lighting on Brooks Falls cam!
The scene reminds us of Snow Globe Otis, so… we made it snow! 😀 (It was a quick snow-verlay job; don’t judge our talents based on this alone lol)
And immediately after that shot, Otis is Bobbing For Fishes!!
And -gotcha- comes up with one!
A few minutes later, Otis grabs another, and then a third one which he takes behind the curtain — there’s another bar nearby (Grazer or another?). “Behind the Curtain” is Otis’ ARRRGH, you’re not gettin’ this one, you pirate, you stance. And it works — he eats the whole thing!
And with that catch, the coach turns into a pumpkin, and we total the August 12 count at 32 Fish! Not a shabby day for our boy! Sending you and the bears wishes for fishes until next time! ♥

I enjoy reading your posts. They are not only informative, they are witty and interesting. I hope to have a tally at the end of the season for the total number of fish our dear Otis has eaten. Thank you!
Thank you for your nice comment! At the end of the season, we’ll share a total.
