Otis Fishing Report UPDATE for September 11, 2023: Otis was presumed napping — or cheating on us eating off cam — when we last bid you adieu. An hour-ish or so later, we catch up to him on River Watch and spy his chompers chomping (yes, all two of them). He Gator Fishes the River and grabs a couple more.
He periscopes under the River Watch bridge and we think he’s probably headed toward the Falls. At 8:00 p.m. Katmai time, Otis is moving and grooving and saunters in to the Falls via Riffles. The Alices pause to gawk and Hail King Otis. All Hail!
Otis notices a new boulder in his Office (Bear 602) and keeps on grooving. (When did that arrive, Otis wonders? Must speak with the decorator and have it removed.).
And decides the Conveyor is the better option for now and gives us his best “You’re Probably Wondering How I Got Here” look.
A few minutes later, his Side-Eye toward the Boulder Bear occupying Otis’ Office works — the Boulder leaves. Otis retakes his rightful place in His Office.
During the Overnights, Brooks Falls cam is panning between Otis and 128 Grazer, and while that’s happening, the trickster 274 Overflow pays a visit and strolls along the Far Bank — confusing chatters once again. (We know these bears are loving bewildering us!!)
From this point, it gets a little dicey with Brooks panning. Brooks Low is just a wee bit too difficult to see when it’s cloudy, and Riffles doesn’t focus on Otis 100 percent of the time (that’s not a complaint, but hint, hint… lol! We’ll donate to an Otis Cam!!) So we didn’t see Otis get any additional fish, but we do think he got at least one more. Not going to count it without proper evidence, however.
Total fish count for September 11 updated to 2 Fish + 2 Scraps + 10 DOAs seen on cam. Multiply that by your favorite number, and that’s our best guess for off cam eats!
Until later (we’ll do our best, but it may be tomorrow), wishes for fishes and bright orange waters (or silver — eats is eats)! ♥
Footnote: We have a daughter flying in today and another with a birthday — thus the chocolate mess of yesterday — and are a bit overwhelmed a minute. Please excuse typos and rushing and missed call-outs and lack of GIFs we are storing for another time. And a reminder that your tags are very welcome to help us catch up!!

Thank you so much for these reports. Your story telling is delightful.
I am worried he’s not fat enough to get around to next July. Unless he shows up at falls earler than usual. Like the first of July not the end.
You’re very welcome, and thank you so much for the sweet compliment! đŸ™‚
Otis is finding fish, getting fat, and doing his best to return next year. We’re keeping our optimism alive because he’s a wise bear — he’ll do the best he can!
