Otis Fishing Report UPDATE for August 13, 2023
Otis leaves for naps at the Platforms side at 3:00 p.m. Katmai time yesterday and returns to the Falls at 10:35 p.m., making for a 7.5-hour nap (thank you to SnowBear for the return timestamp!). He heads toward his Office, with a pause near the Sandbar.
For context, a couple of weeks ago and while we were waiting for Otis to arrive at Brooks, I commented, “If the bear is ON the rock, it’s not Otis. If the bear is NEXT TO the Rock, it’s Otis.” I was confident because in the two years I’ve been following his every move, I’ve never seen him stand on a rock.
So Otis pauses at the Sandbar… and quite adeptly climbs on the rock, as seen from Riffles cam. I’ve actually lost count of how many times he’s demonstrated his Rock Climbing Skills in 2023.
He heads for his Office, with a stop behind the Conveyor. Within 5 minutes of arrival, Otis is eating his first FISH! Look at how nicely our boy is filling out!
The fish aren’t that plentiful, but Otis does get one more before the clock strikes midnight and he remains undisturbed in his Office, so that’s a plus! Updated count for August 13 is 7 Fish + 1 High-Grade + 2 Scraps, as we leave Otis Sit Fishing on Brooks Falls cam. More later, and until then, sending wishes for fishes! ♥
