Otis Stats Update for November 13, 2023: This one is for my fellow math, data, stats, and Excel nerds in the chat. 😀
It’s as simple as I think it can be: I watch cams in the EDT. Otis sticks his paw in the water, and out comes a fish. I look at the clock, find MY time in the list, and type whatever it is his paw or jaw picked up. So long as I don’t make a typo, the top section keeps a total throughout the day (the cells turn colors to keep me typing right). And that’s what I use for the Reports. 🙂
Then, in the far left columns, another kind of Math Magic happens. Since I’m keeping track by times anyway, this section totals by the hour for the entire season. So where the 12:00 a.m. line is, that’s all things caught and/or consumed between midnight and 1:00 a.m.
And judging by this, I’d say Otis is promptly at work by 8:00 a.m. each day and likes to head out for snoozles or some such thing around noon. Then he favors the 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. shift. Definitely Employee of the Year worthy hours, even if he manages a 3-hour nap in there! 😉

You have done such a huge and painstaking job. It takes a lot of time and patience to withstand all these calculations. Let me express my admiration for you. My question: I understood correctly that from July 26 to November 04, 2023, This caught 399 salmon, I mean whole fish. And there are about 5,000 calories in one eaten fish. Is that right?
