Otis Fishing Report UPDATE for September 25, 2023: We last saw Otis about 4:30 p.m. Katmai time swimming around the Lower River in search of the illusive live salmon. About an hour later, Otis appears on Brooks Falls cam just past Riffles.
He hugs the bank to just before the Sandbar and then meanders across the River toward his Office. Surprisingly, it’s empty this evening, and our fat boy takes his rightful place.
Because it’s been a while since Otis has graced us in his Office and the lighting is perfect, we might’ve captured a folder-full of snaps. 😉 We’re sharing so you, too, can enjoy these Iconic Otis poses before the Buff Bears of Brooks 2024 calendar is published!
About 30 minutes in, Brooks Falls cam is panning, and we switch over to Brooks Falls Low. It’s impossible to really see at the far right and near the top in this snap, but the body language is all there — pounce, splash, fish, turn, eat!
A little more than an hour into it, there’s an Intruder Alert, and Otis leaves his Office. He strolls by Alice’s Restaurant and heads to the Sandbar. He scares off this juvenile eagle dining on scraps.
He heads out for the River, and that’s the last we can confirm of him on cams. We’re totaling the September 25 midnight-to-midnight fish count at 1 Fish + 1 Scrap + 12 DOAs on-cam consumption.
Until later, Wishes for Fishes and a Sunshiny Day to all! ♥
